We offer personal service PLUS we list with search engines all hosting clients, as well as web design clients. Platypus Websites has a highly ranked and frequently indexed website. It can take only a few days from when we put a link on our website for a client to be listed by Google. We ensure your site is listed by Google, Yahoo etc., but you then need to follow our advice to get the best search engine ranking.

For search engine optimisation you need lots of information on your website. The text must contain the words the owners want their website to be found by. The position of such search words counts. E.g. In the domain name, site title, page titles, headings, sub-headings, links, prominent in the content and how often used, (but content not stuffed with them). Recommended size of pages is 300+ words.

We have hosting plans starting at $29/year. But we also offer unlimited space and bandwidth. The most popular is $109/year for 600Mb space and unlimited bandwidth. WordPress requires 30Mb so we would recommend $59/year for 150Mb space to allow for plugins and images. Text on webpages takes very little space. But images can take space. So we recommend they be optimised for size before loading to a website. We have a few larger website accounts using over 20 Gb space. Space can be taken up by leaving emails on the server. We recommend clients store these on their own computers. There is no need to pay for more space than you need.

Platypus Websites is basically a web design company who started business in January 1999, but became a reseller of website hosting and domain name registrations to get clients a better deal. With our buying power we can now offer discount web hosting and cheap domain names to all website designers. These are regular hosting plans with high quality data-centres in Sydney and Brisbane Australia – but the price is cheaper to our clients.
